Super Bowl Spread

Super Bowl Spread

Are you a big fan of football? I can’t say that I am, but I do enjoy watching the Super Bowl (not just for the half time show), but because it’s a pretty exciting game. Who are you cheering for this year?

For a few years now I’ve been making football treats for the big day. Nutella brownies, peanut butter cookies etc. This year I thought I would make something savoury and healthy, but still oh so delicious. Wether you’re entertaining your friends at home, or heading over to someones house, these bite sized snacks are sure to be a hit. They are so simple too, just a little bit of imagination can go a long way with these, cater them to your preference! & of course since I like to get crafty here on the blog, a few little bits to decorate your spread, and make the day that much more festive!

Mini Grill Cheese Footballs

How fun are these mini football grill cheese? After finding the cutest little foodball cookie cutter, I knew these were a must! I’m sure these would be a hit at any party, but so festive for Sunday! Each slice of bread made two sandwiches & bonus you can always eat the extras!

You will need:

  • Dark bread
  • Cheese
  • Butter
  • Mayo (Piping bag) Optional

Make the grill cheese like you normally would, once done, give them a few minutes to cool, use your cookie cutter to cut out the footballs. Each sandwich makes about 2 -3 mini footballs, depending on your slice of bread. I added little mayo laces to the top, using mayo in a piping bag. This step is optional.

Football Banner

Since we like to get crafty I had to make this little banner! I love how this added just a little touch to get us in game mode. What do you think? Make one as short or long as you need, adds a extra to your set up!

You will need:

  • Scrap material
  • Paint / Brushes
  • Thread
  • Needle

Cut out the shape of the banner patches, I chose triangles. Paint with different football related colours. As you can see from mine, I went for footballs, and fields. To attach, I simply threaded green and brown thread and stitched through the material.

Buffalo Cauliflower Bites

Believe it or not these are cauliflower bites, paired perfectly with celery (and ranch dipping sauce). My lovely best friend made these as an alternative traditional buffalo bites. Seriously though, they tastes amazing! Who doesn’t love something healthy and delicious.

You will need:

  • Cauliflower
  • Franks Red Hot Sauce
  • Salt
  • Garlic Powder
  • Butter

Field Goal Smooties

Last but not least, these field goal smoothies, these are my all time favourite. Before we get started on the green smoothie, lets talk about the glasses and goal post. I bought a couple of cheap tall glasses from the dollar store, and a white glass marker. Simply use tape to ensure you draw a straight line down the side, and mark out the yard lines. For the goal post, I cut yellow straws and bent them into each other, I used a little bit of hot glue to secure (you can’t actually drink out of them, but they look adorable). Who wouldn’t want to be drinking out of one of these Sunday?

You will need:

  • 1 Large Green Apple
  • 1/2 Cup of Spinach
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 Cup of Orange Juice
  • Frozen Fruit Blend *your choice – stick to green or yellow fruits

Blend everything together, until you get a nice consistency, add more juice if it’s too thick. This should make two glasses of the green smoothie.

Happy Super Bowl! Hope you give one or all of these a try! Be sure to follow me on Instagram & subscribe to the blog to have post sent right to your e-mail!
